Hasbro’s Biscuit My Walkin’ Pup Features

This little interactive dog toy acts just like a real puppy who wants someone to have fun with and love. Biscuit, like GoGo loves to be petted, waits for your commands and can perform many tricks. The more you play with Biscuit, the more responsive this puppy becomes as he gets to know his new owner.

FurReal Friends Biscuit My Walkin Pup Features

Here are the features we think worth noting:

  1. Biscuit will recognize the sound of your voice and will cock his head to let you know you’ve been heard.
  2. He will walk toward the sound of your voice. If you want Biscuit to stay, you just pet his forehead. He will stop moving because he likes to be petted.
  3. He will bark, whine, pant, yawn and can growl (but not in a scary way) adding to his authenticity.
  4. Biscuit also makes normal puppy moves like sitting, walking and wagging his tail.
  5. Biscuit is programmed with a “Guard” mode that is activated by pressing his left side for 5 seconds. His adorable growl will let you know he is in “Guard” mode and will turn towards any suspicious sounds but will not move. To end his protective “Guard” mode, just pet him.
  6. This interactive puppy has sensors on his left and right sides, his back and his forehead as well as a microphone behind his collar so any new care giver’s commands may be heard.
  7. Biscuit also a “Grooming” mode because he wants to look especially nice for his care giver. To activate the this mode, pet one of his sides, then his head, then his back, in sequence and then his head and back again. Biscuit will stop all movement and only respond by turning his head to petting and sounds. This is the perfect time to brush him.

Owning FurReal Friends Biscuit My Walkin Pup

Here we share what it takes to assemble, operate and care for Biscuit — all the things parents want to know:

  1. Biscuit requires four (4) C-Type (LR14) alkaline batteries (not included) to operate all his features.
  2. Batteries are accessed with a Phillips head screwdriver (not included) through Biscuit’s tummy.
  3. This interactive puppy measures approximately 7.1-inches wide x 10.4-inches tall x 11.7-inches long and weighs, with batteries, just over 2 pounds.
  4. Due to small parts, this My Walkin Pup toy is recommended by the manufacturer for Ages 4 and older.Fur Real Friends Biscuit
  5. Biscuit will respond best to commands from his 4 sensors and microphone if he is in a quiet environment without a lot of loud background noise like a television.
  6. If he sits idle for a few minutes, he will go to sleep. Just scratch his forehead or pet him to wake him up.
  7. Biscuit, because he is battery operated is spot clean only. He is not machine washable as this will damage sensors and electronics. Just brush any loose dirt from his fur and then use a slightly damp cloth to remove any stains.
  8. Biscuit is an indoor puppy and should not be exposed to sand, gravel, dirt, grass or anything that might block or damage his sensors.
  9. Hasbro offers a 90-day limited warranty through Tiger Electronics, Ltd. to the original purchaser for any defects in materials or workmanship from date of purchase. Tiger Electronics may choose to repair or replace any product parts or the toy at their discretion.

Biscuit Developmental Benefits for Children

This interactive toy comes with some educational and developmental benefits for younger children. These benefits are the building blocks for more advanced skills used later in life. You might be surprised to know that:

  1. Kid ApprovedBiscuit will make a young child curious enough to want to discover either with your help or on their own, all this interactive puppy can do.
  2. They learn how everything works and through play — they will then remember what they need to do for specific functions each time they play afterward.
  3. Counting and sequencing skill are developed as several of the features require a number of steps performed in sequence to achieve a result.
  4. A child will become more independent in play as they get comfortable with repeated use of functions and features.
  5. Biscuit may inspire role-playing where your child will develop their own stories with their new interactive puppy playmate.

Our Final Thoughts…

The soft fluffy fur, adorable puppy face together with the whines, barks, yips, and some not so ferocious growls will delight any young child who may be allergic to a real dog or is afraid around larger animals or who just likes something soft and cuddly that responds when they call.

This puppy may be named whatever they want and he will respond to that name, when programmed, as well as a host of other commands. There will be a little bit of learning curve for younger players and the provided instructions from Hasbro do not address all the features that will be discovered through play.

The App is one of the best bonuses in that the mini-games come with rewards and allow a player to do so much more with this interactive puppy than standard play alone.
